Scholarship to Change Lives Nomination
Description
We established the Scholarship to Change Lives in 2018 to support residents of Staunton, Waynesboro, and the counties of Augusta, Highland, and Nelson in their pursuit of a better life through a wide range of educational opportunities.
This is not a traditional scholarship, of which we have many. Potentially life-changing educational opportunities come in many forms for people of all ages. That might be a short, specialized program during a particularly formative period of an individual's youth. Another person might need a longer-term, highly-personalized program in order to break a debilitating personal cycle. We designed the Scholarship to Change Lives to help individuals make the most of these and other educational opportunities when they are most needed.
Requirements
- If you wish to nominate someone (the "nominee") for the Scholarship to Change Lives you must be from outside of that individual's immediate family.
- Your nominee must reside in Staunton, Waynesboro, or the county of Augusta, Highland, or Nelson.
- Your nominee may be of any age.
- That program must have the potential to transform your nominee’s life.
- Financial need must be an obstacle for your nominee to pursue that educational opportunity.
- Your nominee must have a strong work ethic that has helped them overcome obstacles and prepared them to be successful in their desired educational program.
- There are no deadlines for nominations. We will review and respond to nominations throughout the year.
