Description

A $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to one (1) graduating high school senior interested in pursuing a career in the behavioral, social science, or psychology fields and/or has an experience with mental illness personally or with a loved one. The award may be used for tuition, books, room, and/or meals at the institution of higher education of the recipient's choice.

This year, Scholarships for Scholars will provide scholarships in 19 categories to students graduating from an Anne Arundel County high school or a certified home-school program.

Students may submit separate applications in up to two distinct categories. Students cannot be awarded more than one scholarship.

Honorary scholarships in the amounts of $9,000, $8,000 and $7,000 are also awarded. Students who submit an application will be eligible for automatic consideration for an honorary scholarship; students do not apply for the honorary scholarships.
Scholarships for Scholars reserves the right to not award a scholarship in any particular category.

Scholarships are awarded without regard to financial need, race, gender, age, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or familial status.

Requirements

• Resident of Anne Arundel County.
• Graduating high school senior of a public or accredited private high school or home-schooled program in Anne Arundel County.
• Minimum SAT composite score of 1100 or minimum ACT composite score of 25.
• Minimum weighted GPA of 3.5.
• Attend an accredited college or university as a full time student.
• Interest in pursuing a career in the behavioral, social science, or psychology field and/or have an experience with mental illness personally or with a loved one.
