Honoring Catherine (Kit) Stuart Schmoker

Sponsor and Purpose:
Helen Catherine Davis Stuart, Kappa-University of Nebraska chapter of Delta Gamma and her husband James Stuart, Phi Delta Theta Fraternity – University of Nebraska, parents of Catherine (Kit) Stuart Schmoker, developed the Schmoker Alumna Principled Leadership Award to honor and recognize their daughter’s commitment to Delta Gamma, her alma mater, her community and her place of worship. The award is managed by the Delta Gamma Fraternity and funded by the Delta Gamma Foundation.

Qualifications: Award may be presented during Convention years to a Delta Gamma alumna member in good standing (please make sure she has paid her per capita dues) who:

• Has made and is continuing to make a significant leadership contribution to her community, place of worship, state, nation or world in an area of philanthropic service. Activities must have taken place within at least the last five years to be eligible for consideration.
• Has exhibited a high level of vision and commitment to a philanthropic endeavor outside the scope of her professional work/activities.
• Continues to exhibit a high level of commitment to a philanthropic endeavor, philanthropic organization, and has served demonstrably as a role model, a respected leader and a valued volunteer.
• Has shown a commitment to the financial needs of the endeavor or organization.

Award:
• A Delta Gamma Foundation Fellowship may be named in honor of the current year’s recipient and recognized in the ANCHORA.
• A donation may be sent on behalf of the recipient to a qualifying charitable organization of her choice, which is consistent with the principles and values of the Delta Gamma Foundation.
• The award will be presented biennially, during Convention years.
• Please note, no cash award is distributed directly to the winner.

Requirements

• The nomination form must be completed and signed by any one of the following: Delta Gamma alumnae group or collegiate chapter, or any Delta Gamma member in good standing.
• Nominations may also be made by a representative of a campus, community, state, nation or world philanthropic organization.
• The nomination application must be completed and submitted online in Smarter Select by February 15.
