HISTORYPauline E. Abshire was a lifetime resident of Three Rivers (1898-1996). A graduate of Three Rivers High School (Class of 1917), she was widely known and respected for her kindness, enthusiasm, and interest in her community. She was a very talented artist and had a life long appreciation for the creative arts. She had a special interest in young people and enjoyed attending their artistic events. Pauline believed strongly that artistic aptitude should be recognized and encouraged, just as hers had been while she attended Three Rivers High School.
PURPOSE
To provide financial assistance to students pursuing his/her continuing education in the field of the Arts.
AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship shall be in the amount of $500. This scholarship is not automatically renewable, but students may reapply in subsequent years.
Requirements
ELIGIBILITYApplicants for this scholarship must satisfy the following criteria:
- Graduation from Three Rivers High School
- Minimum 2.75 GPA in high school
- Continuing education in creative and/or visual arts
- Be available for a personal interview with the scholarship selection committee, if needed
Complete the required information. All information submitted will be kept in the strictest confidence.
- Scholarship Applications must be submitted by March 1st for consideration.
- Provide one (1) letter of recommendation from a business or professional person.
- Include a copy of your school transcripts.
