HISTORY
This scholarship was established by her family to honor Dorothy Hiatt, R.N. She embraced the nursing profession at Three Rivers Area Hospital and dedicated 41 years to caring for others.  Patients, families and coworkers admired Dorothy for her skills as an excellent nurse and administrator.

PURPOSE
To provide financial assistance to students currently enrolled in the field of nursing. 

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship shall be in the amount of $1,000.

Requirements

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants for this scholarship must satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Be currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program
  2. Have already completed at least two terms in an accredited nursing school program
  3. Be a resident of St. Joseph County or Kalamazoo County in southwest Michigan
  4. Be a US Citizen
  5. Be available for a personal interview with the scholarship selection
INSTRUCTIONS
Complete the required information.  All information submitted will be kept in the strictest confidence.

  • Scholarship Applications must be submitted by March 1st for consideration.
  • Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from a nursing instructor(s) and/or professional advisor(s) involved with the student's academic progress or relevant work experience.
  • Include a copy of your nursing school transcripts.
