Description

HISTORY 
Elizabeth “Betty” Lambertson was born November 18, 1917, in Three Rivers, Michigan to Adam and Margaret Armstrong.  Betty attended schools in Three Rivers, The Southern Seminary in Virginia, and she graduated from the University of Michigan.  Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Elks Club. She also volunteered for many years at the Three Rivers Area Hospital in the snack shop.  This scholarship is possible as a result of both Betty’s modest lifestyle and her philanthropic gift. This has been established to assist students with their future goals and create a life that Betty would be proud of

PURPOSE
To provide financial assistance to students pursuing his/her continuing education.

AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship shall be in the amount of $4,000; $1,000 renewable annually for 4 years, upon maintaining eligibility.

Requirements

ELIGIBILITY
Applicants for this scholarship must satisfy the following criteria:

  1. Graduation from Three Rivers High School
  2. Minimum 3.0 GPA in high school
  3. Continuing education at an accredited school or college
  4. Demonstrated commitment to community service
  5. Be available for a personal interview with the scholarship selection committee
INSTRUCTIONS
Complete the required information.  All information submitted will be kept in the strictest confidence.

  • Scholarship Applications must be submitted by March 1st for consideration.
  • Provide one (1) letter of recommendation from a leader within a volunteer organization you serve or have served
  • Include a copy of your school transcripts.
