Description

HISTORY
David T. Stuck was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Like many young men in America, Dave joined the army after the attack on Pearl Harbor and served his country in Europe during World War II. After the war he returned to Kalamazoo and went to Western Michigan University on the G.I. Bill, graduating with a degree in Business Administration. While in college he met and married Lois Greene. Along with his new brother-in- law and father-in-law, they started Fibre Converters, Inc., a paper converting business in Three Rivers in 1949. Although very busy as a husband, father, and business owner, Dave always made time to be active in his new hometown of Three Rivers serving in the Jaycees, Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, as youth co-leader at First Methodist Church, Community Chest, Three Rivers Area Hospital, as founding board member of Peoples Community Bank, and as a founding member of the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation. Dave lived a life of community service, always putting the needs of others before his own. This scholarship was created to remind us as a community that we stand on the shoulders of those that came before us and to reward a distinguished Three Rivers graduate that has demonstrated these same ideals of Service Above Self.
