Description

The Moline Foundation awarded $57,500 last year in scholarships.  With 18 different scholarships available and over 30 awards available this year, we want every student to apply who can answer "Why are you entering your chosen field of study?"

Requirements

We will put you in competition for all scholarships for which you qualify.  You will need:

  1. General Info: Name, Address, Phone and Email.  
  2. Education: High School, Expected Graduation, ACT/SAT score, Grade Point Average, Schools applied to and expected major and minor, etc.
  3. Activities: Honors, Extracurricular, School, Work, Volunteering, and other relevant experiences. VERY Important section to fill out. Please put everything you are doing such as band, choir, sports, volunteer at church—and what you are doing in that activity.
  4. Essay: Why are you entering your chosen field of study? [Limit 200 words]
  5. References: Upload references from two unrelated people who know your work.
  6. Transcript: Sent to Foundation via Parchment [certified program] or send by Registrar to the Foundation via mail.
  7. Parent/Guardian: Names, Addresses, Family Info, etc.
  8. Optional Financial [if wish to apply based on need]: Guardian/Parents’ 1040 tax form from previous year without Social Security Numbers.

Financial Information is needed if you wish to be considered for the following scholarships:

  • Clement T. Hanson Scholarship
  • Lee McAllister Memorial Scholarship
  • Sherrard Academic Foundation Scholarship—describe need only: no 1040 needed
  • Srikanth Yerra Memorial Scholarship

School/Residency Requirements: 

  • Graduating senior of Moline High School, Alleman High School, United Township High School, Rock Island High School or Sherrard High School; or
  • Black Hawk College student and a live within Moline-Coal Valley School District 40 boundaries; or
  • Junior or senior in college in Fall of 2020 and a current resident of Rock Island County.
