Description

The Psi Upsilon Foundation wishes to encourage the pursuit of further study and professional degrees of its members and especially provide for those who show the exceptional promise and drive. Graduate members of Psi Upsilon Fraternity who demonstrate the highest commitment to moral, intellectual, and social excellence as well as a promise to make a distinctive contribution in their chosen field are invited to apply for a one-year Graduate Student Scholarship.

Awarded candidates demonstrate the promise of continued significant contributions which are likely to reflect creativity, originality, and initiative and will mark the candidate as a leading and influential figure within her/his fields of endeavor. The candidate's graduate training is relevant to her/his long-term career goals and is of potential value in enhancing her/his future creativity and accomplishment.

 

Requirements

This prestigious award(s) will be granted to members who have demonstrated the highest service to the Fraternity over a sustained period while showing commitment and a strong propensity for their discipline. Applications for the one-year scholarship will be accepted from members of Psi Upsilon Fraternity who meet the following criteria for the academic year 2021-'22:

  • Was initiated and graduated as a brother at a chapter, provisional chapter, owl club or colony and remains in good standing.
  • Planning on starting or matriculating an accredited graduate degree program in the United States or Canada. You may apply to the scholarship while you are applying to graduate school, or after you are already enrolled in graduate school. 
  • The Scholarship is open to all fields of study at fully accredited graduate degree programs.
  • Has demonstrated prolonged service and leadership within the Fraternity and chapter.

This merit-based scholarship may be combined with other scholarships, assistantships and research grants.

Applicants may re-apply annually in pursuit of the same degree with a maximum of three awards.

Ineligible Programs: Online programs, executive graduate programs, joint bachelors/master's programs in which both degrees are awarded simultaneously, certificate programs, post-baccalaureate programs, graduate programs that are not in the United States and Canada, and graduate programs that are not fully accredited.

Eligibility Restrictions: Members of the board of directors of the Psi Upsilon Foundation and Executive Council are not eligible while serving on the board.
