Description

The Young Alumna Award is given annually to one alumna member, for outstanding service to Alpha Chi Omega by a woman who has been initiated in the past 12 years. 

Nominees should have given outstanding service to Alpha Chi Omega on the local level in several of the following areas: collegiate chapter advising, collegiate chapter house corporation or property management, alumnae chapter executive board, active involvement in support of a collegiate chapter, altruistic project, and/or in community activities in the name of Alpha Chi Omega, submitting recruitment information for prospective members and participation in the alumnae Panhellenic.

Requirements

Members may nominate a sister (or themselves) for the Young Alumna Award.

The following criteria is required:


  • Both the nominator and the nominee (can be the same person) must be members of Alpha Chi Omega in good standing.
  • If self-nominating, please enter the same information under "Nominator" and "Nominee."
  • Nominations should demonstrate how the nominee has met or exceeded all award requirements. Additional documentation to support the overall nomination (e.g. resume, articles, list of prior honors, etc.) is permitted.
  • The nomination should include the following information to be reviewed by the awards selection committee: why the nominee should receive the award, a detailed description of the nominee’s involvement and leadership, specific examples of how the nominee has made an impact on Alpha Chi Omega and her sisters and/or any recognitions or honors received by the nominee.
Nominations will be thoroughly reviewed by a selection committee of alumnae approved by the National Council. The committee will determine the recipients and notify each award recipient and nominator individually. 

Words and content submitted in this nomination may be used in award announcements.
