Description

A $3,000 scholarships will be awarded to two (2) graduating high school senior interested in pursuing a career in the behavioral, social science, or psychology fields and/or has an experience with mental illness personally or with a loved one. The award may be used for tuition, books, room, and/or meals at the institution of higher education of the recipient's choice.

Scholarships for Scholars will provide scholarships in 18 categories this year.  Students may submit separate applications in up to two distinct categories. Students cannot be awarded more than one scholarship.

Honorary scholarships in the amounts of $9,000, $8,000 and $7,000 are also awarded. Students who submit an application will be eligible for automatic consideration for an honorary scholarship; students do not apply for the honorary scholarships.

Scholarships for Scholars reserves the right to not award a scholarship in any particular category.

Scholarships are awarded without regard to financial need, race, gender, age, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or familial status.

Requirements

• Graduating high school student residing in Anne Arundel County.
• Attend a public or accredited private school in Anne Arundel County or a home-schooled program registered with the AACPS Board of Education.
• Minimum weighted GPA of 3.5.
• Will attend an accredited college or university as a full time student.
• Interest in pursuing a career in the behavioral, social science, or psychology field and/or have an experience with mental illness personally or with a loved one.
