Description

First and foremost, thank you for your interest in joining 100 Black Men of the Bay Area, Inc.  We are excited to have you apply for membership with the organization!

If selected, the 100 Members are looking forward to having you join the organization to help support the important work we are doing in the community.

Information provided in the application will be kept confidential and will not be shared outside of the Chapter.  Please answer these questions to the best of your ability; there are no right or wrong answers. 

This application should take 10 - 15 minutes to complete, however, should the need arise, you can save your progress to complete it at a later time.

Requirements

The following is a list of instructions/next steps in the new member selection process.  Please note the following:

  • Membership ApplicationApplications must be completed online and are due by Saturday, October 31st.  No late applications will be accepted.
 
  • Application Fee – After the reviewal process, applicants that are approved to advance to the next level will be invited to a virtual interview.  Once scheduled, there is a $250 non-refundable application fee that must be submitted prior to your interview.  This fee can be submitted online via the “Donate” button on our website at https://www.100blackmenba.org.  Please note, if you are unable to submit the application fee via the website, please let the Membership Committee Liaison assigned to you know.
 
  • 100 Membership Committee Liaison – As part of the application process, you will be assigned a Membership Committee Liaison.  Membership Committee Liaisons are there to help answer any questions you have about the 100 and/or the application process. 
 
  • 100 Member Referral – As a part of the application process, candidates are required to get one (1) referral from an active member of 100 Black Men of the Bay Area, Inc.  You will have the opportunity to request this referral during the application process.  Applications without a referral from a 100 Member will not be accepted.
 
  • The Membership Committee will be reaching out to you to schedule some time to connect with you over the next few weeks.  As a reminder, the committee members are Lawrence VanHook (Co-Chair), Darrell Walker (Co-Chair), Ajani Byrd, Rawle Gittens, Malcolm Goodwin, Bruce Hardy, Michael Martin, Glenn Singleton, and Al Thompson.
 
  • Invitations to 100 Events/Activities – Over the next few weeks, you will be receiving information on a few events that 100 Black Men of the Bay Area is hosting/sponsoring.  While not required, we encourage candidates to attend and participate in these events.  Participation in the events will give you great insight into the work we are doing within the community.  In addition, it will afford you the opportunity to meet and fellowship with members of 100 Black Men of the Bay Area, Inc.
