2021 Schools To Skills Grant Program

Description
The Home Builders Institute (HBI), The Home Depot Foundation (THDF) and the National Housing Endowment (NHE) are committed to working with secondary educational institutions to support student access to schools-based instructional programs and skills training in the residential building and construction trades. As part of this commitment, these organizations will provide financial assistance to schools new to HBI who do not currently use the HBI PACT curriculum and are unable to fund the start-up costs to license the PACT curriculum.
Grants will be awarded in the amount of (or up to, based on need) $13,000 per district to be used toward HBI PACT licensing fees ($7,500 Initial Year/$2,000 Renewal Year), instructor training for 2 instructors ($2,000), and PACT Student Assessments ($1,500) for a period not to exceed two years. Grants will provide funding for the 2021-2022 academic year.
To apply for a grant to assist with bringing HBI PACT Curriculum to your school, please complete the grant application.
Grant Process:
- Grant awards will be announced in early May 2021.
- License agreements drafted and finalized from May - July 2021.
- Instructor training & certification will occur in late July 2021.
- Schools are expected to implement curriculum Fall 2021.
