2022 Greater Houston Frontiers Club Scholarship

PROGRAM DEADLINE: March 31, 2022 at 11:59 PM CDT (Midnight) - CLOSED

This program is inactive or past the deadline.

Description

Scholarships are awarded to some of the most talented and community service focused students in the Houston and Harris County area every year. Our goal is to help college-bound students with a financial need to continue the pursuit of their educational goals.

The Greater Houston Frontiers Club (GHFC) dares students to dream big, and never stop. We not only offer education-based scholarships to make those dreams a reality, but we also award students for service, extra-curricular and leadership achievements. Our scholarship program was created to benefit deserving high school graduating, minority students that attend school in Houston/Harris County and there are no citizenship requirements to apply. Since the GHFC Scholarship Program's inception in 1980, many talented students have received scholarship assistance from our organization.

The GHFC Scholar isn’t necessarily class valedictorian (though s/he can be!).  We are looking for good, all-around candidates who are dedicated to their communities, has a strong sense of service, and who demonstrate a strong work ethic across the board. Only candidates of the highest character will be considered.

As a part of the scholarship process, we’ll ask you to complete our scholarship application and prepare an essay that shares more about who you are. A great first step in the application process is to collect all your work, volunteer history academic achievements and honors/awards.  As you prepare your essay, you may find that you’ll need to request information from outside resources, so start early and don’t forget to save your results until you are ready to submit the completed application.

We award scholarships to students who will be enrolled as full-time freshman with a minimum of 12 semester hours at an accredited four-year institution, or to students who are enrolled as a freshman in an accredited two-year community or technical institution with a minimum enrollment of 6 semester hours.
