Description

By investing in Indigenous post-secondary education, the NRT Foundation and Partners are building the capacity of our communities, enhancing employment opportunities for graduates, and creating the skilled work force that will enable BC to meet its future economic and social development needs. Awards are available to eligible students as Scholarships and Bursaries.

Successful applicants will be eligible for a maximum of:

• Two years of Certificate, Diploma, Trades, or Associates Degree funding
• Four years of Undergraduate post-secondary funding
• Two years of Masters post-secondary funding
• Two years of Doctorate post-secondary funding

Awards are given annually and students must re-apply for every year.

The NRT Foundation has partnered with organizations interested in advancing Indigenous education success and will be administering awards on behalf of:

New Relationship Trust
First Nations Health Authority
Keegan Combes Memorial Awards
Drillwell Enterprises
Peace Hills Trust
BC Council of Forest Industries
Coastal GasLink
Technical Safety British Columbia
Andrea Reimer Award
Indigenous Leaders Scholarship

Requirements

Students must meet the below criteria to be eligible for an NRT Foundation Post Secondary award.

Eligibility:
• First Nations (status or non-status) member of a British Columbia First Nation community
• Planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution on a full-time basis anywhere in the world

Students will qualify for NRT Foundation partner awards dependent on their program types and study areas.

Application Details

This application is made up of four main sections:

Section One - Indigenous, Personal and Program Information (5-10 mins)
Section Two - Financial Information (10-20 mins)
Section Three - Goals, Community Involvement, and Essays (30-60 mins)
Section Four - Supporting Documents (5-10 mins)

Supporting Documents Required:

Proof of Indigenous identity
Confirmation of Enrollment to your program
Transcripts (Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctorate students)
