Description

The Geneva Powers Memorial Scholarship provides support to deserving choral music students who are a graduate of an accredited public high school in Springdale, and will pursue a post-secondary degree in music education at a four-year college or university.

USE OF FUNDS
The Geneva Powers Scholarship helps deserving students continue their education by providing financial assistance for tuition, books, and supplies over one academic year.

The criteria for selection of the scholarship recipient is determined by the selection committee, and may include, but is not limited to, academic performance, financial need, unusual circumstances, and volunteer, work, or extracurricular activities.

Requirements

Qualified applicants must be:
• Graduating seniors from an accredited public high school in Springdale with a minimum GPA of 2.75,
• Currently enrolled in choral music and have participated in choral music for the previous three years, and
• Seeking a degree in music education with a choral emphasis from a four-year college or university.


Age, race, sex, marital status or religious affiliation will have no bearing on eligibility for this scholarship.
