Description

Greater Pearlie Grove M.B. Church offers scholarships to high school graduates within Greater Pearlie Grove's congregation once a year to offset costs associated with furthering their education. After the application and essay have been reviewed, the scholarship administrator will notify you if you have met the requirements for receiving the scholarship. GPG will issue the scholarship funds in $500 increments per semester to the student's college or university they will be attending in the fall of 2023. The remaining funds will be dispersed likewise in the spring of 2024 after receiving grades from the first semester.

The deadline for receiving scholarship applications is midnight, June 30, 2023. 

(The applicant cannot be a part of the Summer Youth Employment Program and receive the scholarship.)  

Requirements

  • The student must be a graduating senior from an accredited high school
  • Must be an active member (participating in a ministry) of Greater Pearlie Grove and a Christians Under Construction (CUC) attendee
  • Must have a letter of acceptance to a Community College or University
  • Must plan to attend the Community College or University of choice in the Fall of 2023
  • Provide two letters of recommendation (one teacher and one from a club or extracurricular sponsor)
  • Submit a 750-word minimum essay:  If you were able to change one thing in the world, what would it be? Explain how you would change it and how it would impact your community.
  • Your grades from your 1st semester must be submitted by December 15, 2023, or at the semester's end. You must have a least a 2.75 or higher GPA to receive the 2nd half of your scholarship.
