Description

Coming together after loss, family, friends, colleagues and students of Coach Sean Kelley came together to create a scholarship in his honor.  Kelley was an inclusion history teacher at Stony Point High School and coached cross-country and tennis. He was stuck by a vehicle on December 2, 2016

Upon hearing of the beloved coach’s death, Stony Point students and teachers organized a memorial in honor of Kelley. Hundreds filled the Stony Point football stadium in honor of the man who touched so many lives. Stony Point Principal Anthony Watson said that Kelley impacted many across the District in his 14 years with Round Rock ISD.

"Tennis and cross-country kids are moved by Coach Kelley’s death because he was so inspiring,”Watson said. “That’s the kind of person Sean was. He cared about these kids and they knew it and in turn, they cared about him. I am proud to have been Sean’s Principal and proud to have known him and I know his memory will live on here at Stony Point.” Kelley often spoke of his students to his mother and father and they are proud of his dedication to teaching and coaching.

To honor their son, the Kelley’s established a scholarship for the students he cared most about. The Sean Kelley Memorial Scholarship supports selected graduating seniors who attend Stony Point and plan to pursue higher education.  In just one week, the Sean Kelley Memorial Scholarship raised over $8,000, which is a true testament to how many people Kelley inspired.“Through this scholarship, Sean will continue his legacy of helping kids,” Watson said.
