Description

The San Luis Obispo County Bar Association (“SLOCBA”) Scholarship Fund was established to broaden the number of traditionally underrepresented groups employed in the legal profession with the goal of providing greater access to, and inclusion in, the legal system.

Requirements

Eligibility:
  • School Level: High School OR Undergraduate
  • Term: 1-Year
  • GPA: Not considered
  • Demonstrated Financial Need: Yes
  • Type of College: Community college or 4-Year college/university
  • Major: Relative to a career in the legal profession (e.g. criminal justice, sociology, paralegal, legal assistant, lawyer, etc.)
  • Other Requirements: Must be a graduating senior from a San Luis Obispo County high school OR an undergraduate who graduated from a San Luis Obispo County high school AND identify as a person of color
  • Renewable: No

*The recipient will also be invited as an honored guest of the Board to a SLOCBA event to network with members of the legal community in San Luis Obispo County. The purpose of the invite is to provide the recipient with the opportunity to make connections with the legal community in SLO County and further their legal career ambitions.
