Description
The Yeager Science Scholarship was established to provide support to students graduating from Coast Union, Morro Bay or Paso Robles High School. The four year scholarship's purpose is to make a positive difference in the life of the recipient (and thereby also in the larger society). It is targeted especially at students who, because of being economically/culturally disadvantaged, would find attending college difficult/unlikely without the encouragement and financial help provided by a scholarship. The scholarship is targeted at students intending to major in the physical sciences and related fields.Requirements
Eligibility:- School Level: High School
- Term: Multi-Year
- GPA: Minimum 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrated Financial Need: Yes
- Type of College: 4-year college/university OR a California Community College with plans to transfer to a 4-year college/university within 2 years
- Major: Physical Science/Technical areas such as Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Mathematics, Engineering and Computer Science
- Other Requirements: Must be a graduating senior from Coast Union, Morro Bay, or Paso Robles High schools AND participate in an interview with the selection committee
- Renewable: No
Award Value:
The scholarship will provide:
1st Year: $3,000 equally divided between terms for the academic year
2nd Year: $5,000 equally divided between terms for the academic year
3rd Year: $7,000 equally divided between terms for the academic year
4th Year: $8,000 equally divided between terms for the academic year
