Description

The Burt W. and Virginia Polin "Farm Bureau" Scholarship was established to encourage one or more local students pursuing a career in agriculture.  This scholarship honors the legacy of Burt and Virgina Polin. Burt Polin was born in San Luis Obispo in 1914 and died in San Luis Obispo in 2006 after being married to his wife, Virginia, for nearly 70 years. He was a dry land wheat rancher for more than 40 years on land on the Carrizo Plains inherited from his grandfather. The Polins were very active in the community.
