Description

Purpose & Description
Our Impact Grants help us fulfill our mission to inspire and empower giving, leadership, and service improving the quality of life for all in our community. 

In order to support organizations in Montrose County and the surrounding area and to incubate qualifying community projects and partnerships, we will support programs and operating expenses through our 2023 MCF Impact Grants.

Timeline:
October 2, 2023 – Online application available, grant cycle open
November 2023 -  if you received 2022 Impact Grant funding your report is due.
December 3, 2023 – Grant cycle closed
End of January 2024 – Organizations notified 
February 2024 - Monies distributed

Grants up to $5000 will be awarded.

Requirements

Funding Criteria & Guidelines:

Organizations should be a registered 501 (c) 3 or have a current fiscal sponsor. If not a 501 (c) 3, please be prepared to describe your charitable or tax exemption status. The MCF can give to an organization that does not have the IRS tax status, but the project MUST be charitable. Organizations with budgets over $3 million are not eligible for operational support but are eligible for program/project support.

Funded organizations must have a program that directly impacts Montrose County residents.

The following criteria are used in the evaluation of grant requests: 
  • Organization's mission is aligned with their programs.
  • Organization demonstrates an understanding of the needs of the population they are serving and engages their constituents in their planning process.
  • Impact of programs or services is explained.
  • Population that is served is underserved or at-risk/vulnerable. Underserved meaning that there are not currently adequate services available for that population.
  • Organization demonstrates collaboration.
  • Financial information is complete.
 The following grant requests will not be funded:
  • Expenses for an individual
  • Requests for travel expenses (Travel is expenses to or from trainings, conferences or to recognition events)
  • College scholarships
  • Requests from religious organizations for the sole purpose of furthering that religion
  • Requests to support political activities or those designed to influence legislation
