Description

Ron Amerson Supervisors' Safety Award Certificate Program

  • Recognizes members' field supervisors for outstanding contributions to safety on their job sites
  • General and specialty contractor firms are encouraged to nominate their respective supervisors (superintendents and foremen) who showed a commitment to outstanding safety during 2023. 
Don't forget to consider nominating your "best of the best" field supervisors. If you have someone who stands head and shoulders above all other field leaders, please nominate them for the Safety Leadership Award. This award is given to just one person each year. For more information and how to nominate one of your outstanding supervisors, visit www.agcga.org/awards. 

Requirements

  • Employees of general or specialty contractor AGC Georgia-member firms are eligible.
  • Nomination deadline is Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1:00 pm. 
  • The criterion is based on safety incidence rates for individual supervisors during calendar year 2023.
  • Awards are provided to supervisors with no lost-time incidents.
  • There is no fee to participate in the Ron Amerson Supervisors' Safety Award Certificate Program.
The award nomination form requests the following information on each supervisor:

• Number of Recordable Cases in 2023
• Number of Lost-Time Accidents in 2023
• Supervisor's Years of Experience as a Supervisor*
• Birth year*


*While providing the experience level and birth year are optional, we hope you'll consider sharing it with us. It's solely for AGC Georgia's staff use as we advocate for more funding for skilled trade curriculum. Having accurate data to show the rising age of the industry's field leadership is critical to our conversations with state leaders as we work to find new ways to recruit talent to fill our industry's workforce needs.

The Ron Amerson Safety Award Certificates are presented alongside the Safety Leadership Award, and honorees will be recognized at AGC's March-April Member First Meetings:
  • March 1 - Marietta
  • March 6 - Valdosta
  • March 7 - Albany
  • March 13 - Macon
  • March 14 - Columbus
  • April 10 - Gainesville
  • April 17 - Augusta
  • April 18 - Savannah
