Description
Welcome to the CalCPA Women to Watch Awards, where excellence takes center stage! We invite you to join us in recognizing extraordinary women in the accounting profession. This prestigious award honors those who have not only achieved remarkable personal growth but have also played a pivotal role in the leadership development of their colleagues. We encourage you to be part of this celebration by submitting nominations and highlighting the outstanding contributions of women who are shaping the future of our profession. Together, let's continue to applaud and elevate the achievements of these inspiring leaders.
To submit a nomination, complete the application form and provide supporting evidence of the nominee's contributions to the profession, the workplace and their community. Nominators are required to provide a comprehensive response, highlighting how the nominee satisfies the criteria outlined for the corresponding Award category. Additional letters of recommendation are strongly encouraged to show support of the nominee's qualifications by other colleagues, peers, and/or supervisors.
Nominations are due Wednesday, February 14, 2024.
Eligibility:
- Must be a California CPA, or a CPA working for a CA-based firm to be eligible
- Non-CalCPA members are eligible
- Past Women to Watch winners are not eligible
- Self-nominations are encouraged
- Nominators may submit multiple applications for separate nominees
Required documentation:
- Submission outlining how the nominee fulfills the criteria for the Award category
- A high-resolution headshot
Recommended documentation:
- Résumé/CV
- One-page bio
- Links to or attachments of articles authored by the nominees
- Additional letter(s) of recommendation in support of the nominee
Awards will be given in three categories:
(1) CPA Emerging Leaders
(2) CPA Experienced Leaders
(3) CPA Trailblazers
All nominees are encouraged to attend Elevate: Women's Leadership Forum 2024 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 - Thursday, May 2, 2024. The winners will be announced at the Women to Watch Awards Ceremony on May 1, 2024 at the Balboa Bay Club and Resort in Newport Beach, California.

An emerging leader is an individual whose professional journey reflects ongoing and exceptional growth in contribution to the profession and increased levels of leadership, responsibility, and sphere of impact. | An experienced leader is an individual who encourages strategic thinking, innovation, and action. They are self-aware, ethical and civic-minded. They prioritize personal development, and promote the development of their peers by way of guidance and mentoring. | A trailblazer is a seasoned leader who has fought for change and overcome setbacks on their own path. A trailblazer promotes abstract, creative, intuitive and innovative modes of thinking. They embody strength, courage and resilience, and are the first or among the first to pave the way for changes and improvements, showing others that they are possible. |
