Description
The Mike Nolan Scholarship was founded by the La Center Little League Board in cooperation with the Nolan family. Michael Nolan was an active member of the La Center Little League, serving as the Board Vice President at the time of his untimely passing.Michael was an active member of the La Center community who valued public service, volunteerism and supported activities for youth. His work as a City Councilman, Fire Commissioner for Clark County Fire Rescue and as a Clark County Sheriff's Office Commander left an indelible mark on the people he served.
Award Information
This fund makes one scholarship award each year. The award amount will be between $1,000. This scholarship is not renewable.
Requirements
Students selected to receive this scholarship must:- Be a graduating senior from La Center High School
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA in challenging academic coursework
- Continue their education at an accredited college, university, career or technical school during the upcoming school year
- Participate in organized competitive sports. Preference will be given to applicants who have participated in La Center Little League for three or more years.
