Description

American Indian Services (AIS) is a non-profit charitable organization that provides Native American students with financial support to obtain the trade they desire, maintain enrollment and graduate through scholarships. The Trade Scholarship Program is currently  open to all Utah trade school applicants.  Awards are based on full tuition and material fees the student is applying for and are allocated directly to the school for the student. Students receiving trade funding will be required to write a one page thank you letter and complete the trade term. If a trade scholarship recipient fails to complete their trade term the funding will need to be returned.  Students will also need to reapply each term, there are four terms throughout a full academic year.

Requirements

  • Enrolled or will enroll as a matriculated student in a Utah trade/tech school program.
  • An enrolled member of a U.S. Federally Recognized American Indian Tribe, or descendant of a base roll member. *UPDATED May 1, 2021
  • Full-time or part-time status – excluding non-credit courses (minimum of 6 credits).
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 must be established and maintained after the first term of trade program.
  • Completed Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
