Justice High School Scholarship Fund - 2024

PROGRAM DEADLINE: April 12, 2024 at 10:00 PM EDT - CLOSED

This program is inactive or past the deadline.

Description

The mission of the Justice High School Scholarship Fund (JHSSF) is to provide need-based scholarships for Justice High School graduates pursuing post-secondary education. The JHSSF supports students who:

  • Have financial need
  • Demonstrate a commitment to learning
  • Are active in their school and community

All JHSSF awards are known as "last dollar" awards and are designed to help fill the gap when all other sources of financial aid have been exhausted.

JHSSF has partners in its awards. Partners use our application but independently select recipients based on financial need and their individual mission. These scholarships have additional requirements, such as an essay, or short questions, and participation in certain activities.

This application enables students from Justice High School to apply with one form for all available scholarships the JHSSF and its partners award:
  • The Rotary Club of Bailey's Crossroads
  • The Ms. Mask Scholarship Committee
  • The Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund
  • The Casey Schulman Scholarship
  • Decorate A Vet Scholarship

Details and requirements for of each of those scholarships can be found in the "Scholarships" section of this application. You are strongly encouraged to apply for more than one scholarship

Requirements

To be eligible for JHSSF awards, applicants must:

  • Be a prospective Justice High School graduate who has been at Justice High School at least four semesters prior to graduation.
  • Demonstrate financial need. This is based on:
    • "SAI" Student Aid Index as calculated by the FAFSA, or by the JHSSF Financial Form.
    • Financial aid packages offered by colleges
    • Other scholarships and grants awarded

In addition to financial need (as determined by SAI), the JHSSF and its partners considers the following applicant characteristics:

  • Academic success and rigor of coursework
  • School commitment and activities
  • Community involvement
  • Commitments (family, jobs, etc.)
  • Recommendations from Justice High School faculty and the community
  • Quality of the student's responses to short-answer questions/essays

All scholarships are awarded to Justice High School graduates at the time of graduation.

Your Justice High School Scholarship Fund application must be complete and must be submitted by the due date for you to be considered an applicant.
