Description

The H.K. Stuart Spirit of Service Award is recognized for collegiate chapters and alumnae groups that evidence the spirit of dedication and service which is exemplified in the life of H.K. Stuart, an initiate of Kappa-Nebraska.

The award celebrates H.K.'s commitment to serving others, and the personification of the Delta Gamma do good motto in every aspect. Endowed by her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine Stuart Schmoker, Kappa-Nebraska, and Richard C. Schmoker, the award is intended to encourage members to participate in service projects.

• The award is presented every Convention year to at least one collegiate chapter and one alumnae group.
• The recipients of the award for 2024 will be announced at Convention in Palm Desert, in June 2024.
• The names of the winners are engraved on a special plaque that is on display at Delta Gamma Executive Offices in Columbus, Ohio.
• A generous donation will be sent, on behalf of each winner, to a Delta Gamma program or local organization of their choice that carries out the mission of the Delta Gamma Foundation.

Requirements

• The chapter/group must submit the H.K. Stuart Spirit of Service Award application. Include service activities that occurred from May 1, 2022 – May 1, 2024.

• At least 50 percent of your local dues paying membership (not including 50+ members) must be involved in the service projects each year.

• The chapter/group must meet the requirements for good standing and be eligible to receive awards.

A committee appointed by the Foundation Board of Trustees will judge the applications. The immediate family of H.K. Stuart will have final approval.

• Service: 60 points
• Time: 20 points
• Talent: 10 points
